Dark Energy
The Illusion Of Reality. Our theory about how this mysterious energy force may have a lot to do with the ground we stand on and the gravity that holds us there. Is there a way to plug in?

dark energy is 75% of all energy in the universe (history-universe 5/11/2010)

The elements
Most of us learn about the elements and how everything in the universe is made of those extremely small atoms, including us. We think of them as tiny particles of “stuff” we can’t see, but know they’re there because we touch them all the time.

Dark energy - Can we plug-in?
Structure
But what is it we’re actually touching? The truth is we never really touch anything; accept a field of electromagnetic force. The electrons orbiting the nucleus form a spherical shell (and other shapes) which can be thought of more like a cloud or fog. The outer shell is the electromagnetic energy that gives the atom its structure and causes them to stick together and form things.

Empty space
The other part of the atom is the nucleus at the center, which is billions of times smaller than the atom. In fact, what most people don’t know is if the nucleus were the size of a marble, the outer orbiting electrons would be around 2 miles out! So basically atoms are almost entirely empty space. Even the heavy elements atoms like iron and lead are more than 99.999999% nothing!

Bonding
So how can (almost nothing) cause the extreme strength in the electromagnetic bonding force of atoms? Here's an example;

use guitar string instead.

 In a high strength steel cable (like in a crane) capable of lifting many tons of weight, it’s only the electromagnetic bonding force between the atoms that holds the cable together. It's just crazy! Continued
